33.8 Dependencies File Caching

20210408

A package may specify in the MLHUB.yaml file section some large pre-built models, for example, to download locally. MLHub will place large files automatically into the cache (~/.mlhub/.cache/pkg/) and then create a symbolic link to the files from ~/.mlhub/pkg/. This is done with the ml configure command. The intent is that the package developer should not need to be concerned with the caching. Caching should be automatic and based on the MLHUB.yaml file.

The cache is retained by default when a package is removed. If you want to also remove the cache of downloaded files for the package then you are given that option during the remove.
