8 Apriori Association Rules

Package: edsight.

A fundamental analysis that defined data mining in the 1990’s was association analysis. Here we illustrate the concept in 5 minutes, This MLHub package demonstrates both basket analysis and association rule generation based on Christian Borgelt’s 2004 Apriori implementation https://borgelt.net/apriori.html.

The edsight package provides the functionality in the context of education analytics. For our purposes we rename the installed package as apriori.

To install, configure, and demonstrate the package (noting the use of rename here):

ml install   anusii/edsight
ml rename    edsight apriori
ml configure apriori
ml readme    apriori
ml commands  apriori
ml demo      apriori

In addition to the demo command the package also supports itemsets, train, and predict.
